The Best Team in NBA History
With the best regular season record that was crowned with a victory in the playoffs it's hard to argue that the Jordan lead and Pippen inspired 1996 Chicago Bulls are the best team in the history of the NBA. Fast-forward twenty years however and here comes another great team trying to strip them of that nearly-unanimous praise.
The Best 51-Game Start
In fact, Stephen Curry has lead this year's Golden State Warriors on the court to the best 51-game start in the league history. Having not lost a single game at home this season not only could the Bay Area team beat the Bulls 20 years old record, they could also beat the 30 years old Bird's 1986 Celtics record of going 40-1 at home.
The 2016 Warriors have broken the NBA
However, it's not only the Warriors results that have impressed, but also the flavor they've added to those results. Rolling with a dynamic offense quaterbacked by two of the top five shooters in the league, in the persons of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Warriors have scored more than 115 points per game on average. A number unheard-of in modern day basketball.Teams shown have scored 100 points per game, made 7.5 three points per game and shot 33.33% from the three point line in any regular season.
The Nash-Curry Quadrant of NBA Fun
In case you've missed them, here are the Warriors, right in the top rigth corner of the top right quadrant. A quadrant they share only with themseleves and four Steve Nash's Phoenix Suns "Seven Seconds or Less" teams. As such, that top right quadrant of high-scoring, long-range shooting offenses could rightly be called the "The Nash-Curry Quadrant of NBA Fun".
Steph Curry on his way to get 50-40-90 club membership
Leading is team to glory, Curry is also putting up close to a 51-45-91 split that would officially give him is ticket into the club of great shooters. Earlier this year, Curry even had an outside chance at a 52-42-92 split which has never been done.Players shown have shot 47% from the field, 37% from the three point line and 87% from the free throw line in any regular season. They also made 50% of the statistical minimums to qualify as a NBA league leader in each category.
Stephen Curry Might Reach The Heavens
Seemingly in his comfort zone shooting from anywhere within 32 feet of the basket, Curry is establishing himself as the best three point shooter of all-time. Steph is on pace to make 382 baskets from the three point line. The most threes anybody not named Steph Curry ever scored in a single season is 269.The data was last updated February 9, 2016.
